History
Bertel O. Steen Kapital is a part of the Bertel O. Steen Group, a company that has been owned by the Steen family for close to 120 years.
The Bertel O. Steen Group has grown to become one of the largest trading and service houses in Norway. It has more than 3.000 employees and more then 20 BNOK in revenue.
The core operation lies within mobility, where Bertel O. Steen imports brands such as Mercedes-Benz, Peugeot, Kia, Citroën, DS Opel, Fiat, Jeep and Alfa Romeo.
The Bertel O. Steen Group also has significant operations within real estate and industrial investments/PE. The private equity portfolio is managed by Bertel O. Steen Kapital.
Present
The Bertel O. Steen Group has over a century of experience within industrial ownership. For a long time these investments were managed alongside the Group’s mobility operations.
In 2019, the Bertel O. Steen Group decided to revitalize and strengthen its setup within industrial investments. Bertel O. Steen Kapital was established as a separate unit under the BOS Group, and Haakon Jensen and Stian Skrefsrud were put in charge of the new operation. Together with a significant cash allocation, BOS Kapital was given the responsibility of managing the Group’s investments/operations within Bertel O. Steen Power Solutions, Bertel O. Steen Defence & Security and Viking footwear.
A lot has happened since 2019: We have grown to a solid team of 5 investment professionals. We have completed 20 transactions, including both new platforms, add-on investments and capital raises. We are humbled and pleased to see that our efforts so far have yielded significant organic and structural growth across our portfolio.
